How Often Should You Detail Your Car in Florida?

North Florida is one of the harder places in the country to keep a vehicle clean. UV exposure runs year round, salt air reaches well inland, spring pollen coats everything for weeks, and summer storms leave mineral spotting behind. Here is a schedule that actually holds up in Jacksonville.

Wash every two to four weeks

A maintenance wash is the single highest-value thing you can do for a vehicle here. Road film, salt, bug residue, and pollen are mildly acidic or abrasive, and every week they sit on the clear coat is a week they are working against it.

Two weeks is ideal if the vehicle lives outside or you drive near the beach. Four weeks is workable for a garage-kept commuter.

Interior cleaning every one to three months

Sand, sunscreen, and spilled drinks are the Jacksonville interior trio. Sand works into carpet backing and acts like sandpaper on fibers; sunscreen leaves an oily film that attracts dust and dulls plastics.

A quarterly interior clean keeps the cabin from crossing the line where it needs a much more expensive deep service.

Protect the paint two to four times a year

Wax or sealant is a sacrificial layer. It takes the UV and contamination hit so your clear coat does not. In Florida sun, a wax coat measurably degrades in a few months, which is why we recommend protection quarterly rather than annually.

Between protection services, you will notice the difference at the wash: a protected car releases dirt with far less agitation.

A simple schedule that works

If you want one plan to follow, use this:

  • Every 2–4 weeks: Basic Wash
  • Every 1–3 months: Fresh Interior
  • Every 3–4 months: Signature Detail for protection
  • Once or twice a year: Full Service with wax and polish
